Attention Fremont students: This Friday FHS staff will be hosting their 2nd annual teacher college fair. Come and check out all the UC's, CSU's, private and community colleges, that our staff members have attended. If you participate you will be able to take part in the multiple raffles and win prizes such as: Winter Formal bids a yearbook and even a computer. In honor of the college fair this Friday, November 21, it will be also be "Rep Your College Day." We encourage yo to wear any college or university attire. Only hats with college or university logos will be allowed. (C. Tuana)

Do you need help studying for your next test? Study with the experts: Sylvan Learning Center of Cupertino is offering one FREE hour of homework help to every student at Fremont High School from November 12, 2008 - December 18, 2008. Homework help can be in Pre-algebra, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, Trig, Calc, Math Analysis, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Literature, or History. Homework help is available only on Thursdays from 6:30 pm-7:30 pm or 7:30 pm-8:30 pm. All students that are interested must call to reserve their spot and have their guardian fill out a permission form. To sign up for a FREE hour of homework help, please call (408) 446-3623. (A. Are you interested in becoming a part of the award-winning Fremont Color Guard Team? You still have a chance! The winter competition season is starting soon, so come by the band room and sign up for the Fremont High School Winter Guard. The season starts December 2nd, so sign up now! (J. Kelly)

La Raza Latina is having a canned food drive for the less fortunate, all this month. So bring your cans to school and turn them into your 2nd or 4th block class. Please do not bring cans with an old expiration date. 1st place is a pizza party, 2nd place, a cake. (G. Lopez)

Do you want to earn extra money?  NOVA is back on campus! If you are 16 or over, NOVA can help you find a job, as well as help you in future goals including the GED, community college, vocational training, or the military.  You must meet income eligibility requirements.  See Brenda Reyes up by Jesus’ office.  She will be on our campus every other Wednesday from 11 am. - 3:30 pm.  (D. Attention all students: Students For Success Club is an after school peer tutoring program sponsored by FHS National Honor Society and PTSA. It is a service offered by the students for the students.  If you have any questions, please see Miss Ramirez in the library.

CAREER CENTER :

Financial aid information night is Thursday, December 4th in the large auditorium at 6:30 PM.  We will be discussing ways to pay for college, explaining what the FAFSA is, and how to start the whole process. (C. Madruga)

Are you a junior or senior and curious about what dorm and college life is like? Then you should take part in the UC Irvine Stay Over Program! You will be able to stay the night on campus with undergraduate students and live the college life for a day. Applications and details in the career center. (C. Madruga)

Seniors! Need scholarships and money for college?  Then come to the career center to fill out a volunteer and extra curricular activities form!  If we don't know what you have done for your community in the past and what your interests are, we won't be able to nominate you for scholarships.
